Mercer Island Mid Century

This was a major remodel of an historic mid century modern home on Mercer Island originally designed by Paul Hayden Kirk.

Paul Hayden Kirk (1914-1995), was a renowned local architect who played a prominent role in pioneering modernist design in the Pacific Northwest.

Our goal for the remodel of this historic Mercer Island home was to honor the spirit of Kirk’s vision while functionally reorganizing the plan and updating the finishes to accommodate an active family of four.

The project included the kitchen, mud room, three bathrooms, the master suite, hardwood flooring throughout, and a new stair to link the upper living areas to a previously unfinished basement that was transformed into a playroom.
